The MPSSZ continued to be the most active (non RIS) seismic source zone in the Coastal Plain in 2000. There were 16 locatable earthquakes. These events with magnitudes ranging between ML = 0.6 and ML = 2.4 were located at depths shallower than 13.0 km. The seismicity in 2000 was sparse. The seismicity was widespread in the MPSSZ.
