Network Unavailable

GEE makes connections over the internet to get seismograms and information about recent earthquakes. Unfortunantly, many schools use firewalls that prevent GEE from making these connections. If you get a message from GEE saying something like "Network Unavailable, GEE will now go offline" then you may be behind one of these restrictive firewalls. In order for GEE to work with recent data in your location, you will need to have your computer network administrator create rules in the firewall that allow connections to the servers that GEE talks to. The information your systems administrator needs is below.

Firewall configuration: The simplest configuration would be to allow http connections to port 80 on the following IP addresses: 128.95.166.47 and 129.252.35.35.
