Jake Hobart
I am a native of Possum Hollow Farms, born into a long and honorable line of working dogs. With some reservations, I gave up the family business to become a UBC (Urban Border Collie). I hope to distinguish myself in the modern arts of agility, frisbee, and receiver function analysis. My primary responsibility in the group is maintaining a database of the balls, rope toys, and frisbees that are so essential in our science today.
Recent activities include an appearance at the Canine Capers AKC Agility Trial in Alpharetta, GA on September 12-14, 2008, my first big event. I had two qualifying runs in "Jumpers with Weaves" (JWW) in the Novice A category. Were it not for my flakey human handler, I would have had a third qualifying run! I can't believe I am suppose to follow that guy's lead. But, as they tell us in People Handling 101, I did not express any negativity toward him so he won't start to stress out in future events. I just held my tongue and led him off to play some frisbee! The best part was the cammo bone and squeeky frisbee for my third and second place finishes in the two runs that my handler didn't blow ... not quite a herd of sheep, but it'll do.
